The 30 - Minute Ayurvedic Cookbook
by Danielle Martin

It can be easy to eat healthy, delicious food, without spending hours in the kitchen. That's why this cookbook is quickly becoming one of my favorites as it actually delivers on the title of "30 minutes."

Rich in delicious Indian inspired staples, such as Chana Masala, Kitchari and Dal, each recipe is catered to specific Doshas.

What is a Dosha?

Ayurvedic medicine is based on the idea that the world is made up of five elements — space, water, earth, fire, and air.

A combination of each element results in three doshas, known as vata, kapha, and pitta. These doshas are believed to be responsible for a person’s physiological, mental, and emotional health.  Ayurvedic medicine believes that each dosha type should eat different foods to keep everything in balance.

At the beginning of this book there is a brief introduction to Ayurveda (the science of life), correct eating habits as well as a test to see which dosha is dominant.  Once that is established you can choose the recipes that may be most beneficial.

Included in this amazing cookbook are several different chapters ranging from smoothies, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. There's even a chapter on spices and condiments!  Recipes are indexed by name or by health benefit.

Happy cooking!
